Be cheerful.
There are countless treasures and endless messengers to show you the way.
Climb upward and restore your mind.
Notice how your self-interest rises when you begin to pair effort with concentration. It usually comes in the form of doubt. And doubt comes in the form of questions.
“How do I get anything done without a goal?”
“How do I accomplish anything?”
You may find that “why” and “why not” precede some of your questions. “Why am I here?” “I want to be a success…and why not?”
Desire is the stream in consciousness that self-interest rests. You want something. And you doubt whether it is in your self-interest to have it or not.
The questions are camouflaged results. The essence of doubt is seeking after proof. You want evidence to verify your efforts and when you look for proof you diminish your effort.
It’s because you pair your effort with wanting evidence rather than pairing your effort with concentration.
If your doubt is unyielding, you continue to question what you get if you pair effort with concentration. You want proof which is a fool’s choice. The fool lauds the desire for proof as praiseworthy and reasoned all the while spending his gold on a foolish pursuit.
The gold bag of effort needs to be poured into the cast of concentration.
There’s nothing to achieve.
We each have all that we need to awaken. What keeps you looking at the ground?
Put your mind on the teachings.
Don’t give up. Keep going.
